この箸工場では、長さを決める工程で切り落とす端材のことを「ぺっちん」と呼んでいます。機械で切り落とす時の音をそのまま表現した名前です。このつまみやすい太さの「ぺっちん」に、マグネットを取り付けました。冷蔵庫のドアなどでメモを付け外しする音は、まるで工場の「ペッちん！」を再現したようなマグネットピンです。

Magnets made from ‘petchin’; offcuts from the manufacture of chopsticks. Having once been part of a chopstick, these magnets fit perfectly in your fingers. The action of attaching and removing the magnet makes the petchin recall its history as part of a chopstick.
